Many Hollywood greats have been active for years. Think about Meryl Streep or even the likes of Al Pacino and Robert De Niro. They have graced our screens with their presence, and many continue to admire and even learn from them up to this day. However, some of the best and brightest stars come from the young actors who grace the silver screens today. They prove that age is not an obstacle to excelling in your craft as they build careers, improve performances and boost their star power.
We’ve put the list down, and here they are:
Nicholas Galitzine
If roles were a game of online bingo Philippines, who would have thought that Nicholas Galitzine’s name would be put on the map? He stole hearts in Red, White & Royal Blue and then turned the head on healthy masculinity by parodying toxic masculinity in Bottoms. While he could not promote Bottoms and Red, White & Royal Blue, Galitzine was happy to receive a positive reception to his work.
“Watching the reaction from the sidelines has been so heartwarming and encouraging. I think they’re both significant movies, particularly to the queer community, and I’m so happy to be a part of both of them,” Galitzine shared.
He is currently starring as the first Duke of Buckingham in the upcoming “Mary & George” miniseries, who excelled at sports. He had sung in the film Cinderella alongside Camila Cabello and carried a tune once more with Anne Hathaway in The Idea Of You.
Charles Melton
He appeared as Reggie in Riverdale for six (6) seasons – the experience first served as his acting school. He started pursuing acting when he turned twenty (20). However, seeing movies in theatres did influence his love for film and the eventual acting bug. Melton shared, “I always found bits and pieces of myself in certain characters that I would watch and just wanted to know how I could do that.”
However, the experience of shooting Riverdale helped Melton cultivate the ethic he applied when filming Todd Haynes’ May-December. In May December, so much adrenaline went into a condensed and compact amount of time; thus, every minute was crucial. Mary Kay Letourneau’s affair was with a student she married. Starring Julianne Moore and Natalie Portman, it centers around Melton’s Joe, who was groomed by Julianne Moore’s Gracie when he was in seventh grade.
Melton says that May December has been his best career experience so far. It has also given him the roles he wants to keep embarking on. “Having the opportunity to play a 36-year-old dad — who at such a young age was given an immense responsibility in navigating through life as this adaptive adult child to survive — and coming into his discovery and awakening was inspiring for me to embark on,” Melton added.
Charles Melton’s inspirations in acting are Tony Leung and his parents.
Austin Butler
Butler may have gotten his start on Nickelodeon and Disney television shows, but as he got older, he nabbed more impressive roles after taking more acting lessons and breaks to reflect on what he really wanted from life. He took turns in Once Upon A Time in Hollywood, but his turn as Elvis Presley made him a star due to his intensive method of acting. His Elvis nominated him for an Oscar.
His star got even more prominent after he starred as Fauyd Ratha in Dune 2. There, Butler studied sharks and wore a cap for his hair. He continues many strong performances after his strong turns in Once Upon A Time in Hollywood, The Shannara Chronicles and Elvis. His Fauyd Ratha performance has given him the moniker of someone who excels in playing otherwordly creatures but has the body of a leading man.
Zendaya
Zendaya is no stranger to Hollywood’s glitz, work, and glamour. She rose to prominence by starring, performing, and producing on Disney Channel. However, she transitioned quickly to adult roles and became a famous face in fashion halls. She starred in the Spider-Man trilogy and The Greatest Showman. Her turn as a sapphic drug addict in HBO’s Euphoria led her to critical acclaim and two Emmy wins.
Her transformative acting ability can be admired as Chani in Dune 2 and this April, as the girl boss and flawed businesswoman Tashi Duncan in Luca Guadigino’s Challengers. According to Denis Villeneuve, she’s interested in learning more about the ins and outs of production. We cannot wait to see what she comes up with!
Wrapping Up
Hollywood won’t be out of bright stars to grace the screens. However, we expect to see more from them in the coming years. Watch out – expect a significant award to them in the coming years!
